Our baby, who is looking less like a baby and more like a lady every day (this morning she brought me one of her dresses and wanted me to put it on for her...dress up already?!), celebrated her first birthday on Friday! I couldn't have pulled it all together without the help of my wonderful parents who were in town passing through on their way to Cali-for-ni-a. It was a small shindig (or as small as you can get when your spouse has six siblings and all but one are married). We had sandwiches, pasta salad, fruit kabobs, and Funfetti cupcakes. There were buckets of fun to be had, take a look:
Leone let everyone play with her new wagon (and by "play" she meant, "I'll sit inside and you drive").
Aside from family we invited our home teacher and his wife
as well as Spencer's long time (looooong time) friend and his wife.
Leone visited with all her guests and mooched off their plates.
Enjoyed a game of baby croquet....
and an animated game of peek-a-boo with Great-Grandma Margaret.
Next came presents! Everyone was very generous.
We topped it off with a song (you know the one) and cake. It started out timid...
but ended in scarf mode.
While she was distracted by cake her cousin started raiding the toys.
Happy happy birthday Leo dear!
