Proud To Be An American

I voted today! It's such a great feeling! I truly believe that we live in a country blessed with many freedoms and opportunities. I also believe that if you don't exercise you're rights you will lose them (this is also a good time to mention that if you don't know you're rights, they're worth looking up...you're online anyway). Today I voted at a poll location for the first time! I've always done absentee ballots. When I told Spencer he enlightened me by responding "Wow, you're officially a resident now". Interesting thought. I've had my UT license and car registration since the summer (not to mention a Concealed Firearms permit which I used as one form of Identification today, this also added to the radical experience. It's probably the only time I'll actually have to pull it out...hopefully) but I just voted in an election for the district/state in which I physically live! Awesome and sad at the same time (can't I be an Okie and a Ute?). I suddenly have this odd sensation of being a responsible adult. If you didn't vote then register now (once again, you're already online, you might as well...it beats staring at Facebook for another hour...or reading my blog...just do it). Vote, thank Heavenly Father for the right to do so, and remember how good it feels to be an American.
