This isn't the best picture of me, but I've had enough hounding from my sister to post a belly picture that I'm just hoping this will satisfy. I haven't posted a picture before this because frankly I haven't had a belly really. It literally popped just this month...like the beginning of March. So here we are, me and baby girl Taylor at 21 weeks. Feeling great and so excited to meet her. Last week some of the teachers at work hosted a baby shower for my co-worker and I and Spencer and I were so blessed to receive some lovely gifts, mostly clothes, but also some books and other things that we can take off of our registry. The shower (and officially hitting the half way mark) set a wheel of anticipation spinning and now all I want is to meet our little girl. We have two names we're torn between right now so she's still baby Taylor. I was cooking dinner and listening to music, daydreaming about our little girl and a song came on my iPod that I love and has a new meaning for me now that we're expecting our first child. The song is called "If The Stars Were Mine" by Melody Gardot. She has a lovely voice so you should look up a video of the song on YouTube. The combination of daydreaming while listening to the song just made the words even sweeter so I must share. I've included the lyrics below for all to enjoy.
"If the Stars Were Mine"
If the stars were mine I'd give them all to you
I'd pluck them down right from the sky and leave it only blue
I would never let the sun forget to shine upon your face,
So when others would have rain clouds you'd have only sunny days
If the stars were mine I tell you what I'd do
I'd put the stars right in a jar and give 'em all to you.
If the birds were mine I'd tell them when to sing
I'd make them sing a sonnet when your telephone would ring
I'd put them there inside the square whenever you went out
So there'd always be sweet music whenever you'd walk about
If the birds were mine I tell you what I'd do
I'd teach the birds such lovely words and make 'em sing for you.
If the world was mine I'd paint it gold and green
I'd make the oceans orange for a brilliant color scheme.
I'd color all the mountains make the sky forever blue
So the world would be a painting and I'd live inside with you.
If the world was mine I tell you what I'd do
I'd wrap the world in ribbons and then give it all to you.
I'd teach the birds such lovely words and make them sing for you
I'd put those stars right in a jar and give them all to you.
